The Counseling Center for Parents and Children “Saint Alexandra The Empress” inaugurated in Bucharest, Romania
|On October 1st, 2017, the Counseling Center for Parents and Children “Saint Alexandra The Empress” was inaugurated in Bucharest.
At the event, Alexandra Nadane, the center’s executive director, received the Merit Award signed by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. It was handed to her by Fr. Ionuț Iordăchescu, Diocesan Counselor for Social and Philanthropic Mission at the Bucharest Archbishopric, who said:
At the moment, there is lack of information and education. Many young mothers are confused, they do not know what to do when they find themselves in a difficult situation and prefer the easy way out.
Alexandra Nadane thanked to His Beatitude Daniel for the award and all the support the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchy has offered for pro-life activities. She mentioned that the center shall need the involvement of many actors to offer support to pregnant women, to children and families in need.
Tomnița Michaela Florescu, Deputy Mayor of Bucharest, Romania’s Capital city, who was present at the event, appreciated the existence of such a center in Bucharest:
There are still beautiful things happening in a world deprived of compassion. You are strong, I can see that. Women are usually strong in their fragility, but there are social environments where there is not enough support for them and, if we can extend a helping hand, then let us do that.
The Counseling Center for Parents and Children “Saint Alexandra The Empress” is on 81 Virgiliu Street, Sector 1, Bucharest. It is open daily Monday through Friday, between 10:00 and 18:00 hours.
