What a pro-life student answers to Elle Romania editor who said „abortion is not murder”
|On the 24th of March 2018, despite snow and below-zero temperatures, in 300 cities and towns from Romania and the Republic of Moldova was held the March for Life 2018 – “A pro-life world”.
The event was a success, being organized on an unusually cold weather for Romania and the Republic Moldova at this time of the year. A lot of young people were present, which contributed to this success, turning the local marches in cheerful events full of colored balloons. Irritated by this success, some secularist voices from Romania aggressively attacked the Romanian pro-life movement.
Among them, Ioana Ulmeanu, editor of Elle Romania, who wrote an opinion article entitled “Abortion is not murder. But a ban on abortion is murder”, in which she repeats ten times that “abortion is not murder”.
After the event, Alexandra Nadane, President of Bucharest Students for Life, gave her a short and KO-like reply on her Facebook profile:
The article by Elle Romania’s Ioana Ulmeanu, entitled “Abortion is not murder. But a ban on abortion is murder”, is the perfect case study for Orwell’s words: „Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable”.
