The Juridical and Human Rights Commissions of Romania’s Senate have rejected a bill by Deputy Remus Cernea, which would give legal recognition to civil partnerships between unmarried partners – a draft law which actually aimed to offer legal recognition to same-sex partnerships.
Romanian Senators said Romanian society is not yet prepared to take this step.
The Chamber of Deputies is yet to decide on the bill.
